Based in Hope in the lovely Peak District National Park, Derbyshire, we have two eco shops in the village. Our sustainable fashion store has a wide range of clothes for men, women and children made in organic cotton fabrics, natural wool and hemp, alongside fair trade and recycled jewellery. Our eco home store contains lovely things for the sustainable home and garden.

Our aim is to provide a range of sustainable and ethical products for a greener lifestyle. We stock a wide range of exciting eco clothing for men, women, babies and children that is manufactured to exacting environmental standards and are, where possible, made from organically grown fibres such as cotton and hemp. We also stock items for home and garden, organic bodycare, natural paints (not currently available online, sorry), recycled stationery, ethical gifts and recycled/fair trade jewellery created by companies who share our concern for people's welfare and the environment.

Eco Eco carries the Peak District National Park's Environmental Quality Mark (EQM), a recognition of our commitment to good environmental practice. Businesses awarded the EQM have to achieve high standards of care for the environment in all aspects of management including use of locally grown and made products and services, use of environmentally friendly products, efficient use of energy and water, minimisation of waste by reducing, reusing and recycling, and provision of environmental information to customers.
Eco Eco also has a green star from the Vyouz Network and is a member of Ethical Junction.

Here at Eco Eco, we are not paragons of virtue, but we're working on it. Our aim is to offer you the finest products, fairly traded and produced locally within strict environmental guidelines. We are getting as close as we can to this goal, but we are not quite there, yet. Before you click away in disgust, let us assure you it’s not through lack of trying. Here’s why… We try to ensure that as much of our clothing as possible is organic. With some fibres, such as cotton and hemp, that is fairly straightforward, but organic wool is particularly difficult to source (although it's getting easier year on year). Some of our suppliers of organic clothing may also produce non-organic clothing, because it is difficult for them to source sufficient organic textiles and convert production to reach recognised industry standards. Eco Eco Ltd. was formed in 2005 by Alison Jackson-Bass to take eco fashion to venues around the UK where customers could try on the clothes rather than having to purchase all their ethically and environmentally produced organic clothing by mail order. However, we soon realised we needed a permanent base, as well as an online home. The first shop opened at The Courtyard in Hope in August 2006, and moved to even nicer premises in early 2009. It stocks clothes for men, women and children in organic fibres wherever possible alongside fairtrade accessories and jewellery. The second shop opened in August 2008, has a range of products for the house and garden, including natural paints, organic cosmetics and body care, fairtrade gifts, toys and craft kits. The online orders are despatched direct from Hope. We now employ four local people and are hoping to start producing our own clothing range, in a small way initially, that will be made in the UK.
