Derbyshire Gritstone sheep are the indigenous breed of the High Peak and were first bred in the Goyt Valley, near Buxton, in the 19th century.

This wool has come from sheep at High Nightam Farm in the Peak District National park, and has been processed and spun in the UK.

Both Eco Eco Ltd and High Nightam Farm are holders of the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark.

Wool was once one of Britain's most precious resources. Our wool was famous internationally; wars were even fought over it. Now, sadly, a fleece is often worth less to the farmer than the cost of shearing the sheep.

Here at Eco Eco we want to try to reverse the trend by working with local farmers to create local wool products that are high quality and regionally distinct.
