| Grist
| Web eco magazine
| One of our favourite websites is the online eco-magazine Grist which manages to explore environmental and ethical issues with a wry sense of humour. It's pretty US-centric but we can forgive it that given its coverage on international issues. For advice on how to deal with personal environmental challenges have a read of Grist's agony column - Ask Umbra - the archives are full of useful, and surprising, information.

| Flickr
| Photo sharing community
| Like digital photography? Our new passion is for Flickr, a site where you can upload photos for either private or public viewing. Ideal if you've taken photos of a special event and want to make them available to friends and family. However, if you enjoy taking creative shots then make your photos 'public'. You'll attract comments (almost invariably positive) from Flickrites round the world. You can manage your Photostream by sorting your photos into Sets with different themes and you can also join Group Pools which have specific themes, for example 'cats', 'colours' or 'oceans'. There are literally thousands of Pools and working within their guidelines is somewhat akin to joining a photography club. The trick is to jump in, add photos and browse the options available. Highly recommended.
