Tie made from Ahimsa, or Peace Silk. This fibre is created by moths that complete their life cycle by breaking out of their cocoon, rather than being boiled alive for their silk. This creates a richly textured, slubby fabric.

Dyed with natural dyes in two colourways: Terracotta and Ebony.

Do you know that 15 silk worms are being killed to get 1 gram of silk and 1500 silk worms are being killed to get one meter of woven silk (cloth)?

With ahimsa silk, cocoons are left alone for seven to 10 days. Once the worms mature, they are allowed to pierce the cocoons and fly away as moths. Only after that the manufacturing of peace silk begins. Each cocoon is checked individually to ensure that the moth has escaped before the silk thread is spun.
