Aura
All the ingredients used in the dyeing process right from raw material to processing to fixing the dyes are directly from plant origins roots, flowers, stems and bark and other natural ingredients. None of our processing stages contains any material from synthetic source. We use myraballum, kattha, catechu, pomegranate rind, onion skin, madder wood, indigo, turmeric, sea salts, castor oil and many more which are known to have medicinal properties.
We are a GOTS CERTIFIED (GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD) integrated textile unit, our weaving, sizing, dyeing and stitching units are certified. After sourcing organic yarns from certified & trusted units weaving, sizing, dyeing and stitching every process are done in house.
GOTS standard has a minimum of social compliances which we adhere to. Taking responsibility for how people and the environment are impacted by our activities is important and is essential if Aura is to be able to grow while maintaining profitability.
As certifications are an expensive procedure it is not feasible for us to procure all certifications. As a conscientious company we believe in fair practices of trade. This applies to not only people working for us but also to people who would like to work with us.

Other important Points about the colors/Herbal-dyeing/Fabric care
To store fresh Indigo blue-dyed article for long periods of time it should be kept covered and away from light since it is light sensitive. This problem subsides after 3-4 washes. Dry cleaning is permissable. Yellow textiles are not recommended forexteriors such as curtains as they are poor to light fastness. All colors except blue, white and some pastel shades are highly sensitive to citric content or lime, thus care should be taken accordingly. It is recommended to wash fabrics before use as sometime unattached dyes may leave marks, especially red and blue. Care should be taken or fabrics tested when two different colors are used on one product. Please bear in mind that these fabrics are a natural product unlike other chemical dyed textile articles available. Water marks may form if textiles are put partially in water/or water is spilled and then dried. Mild Liquid soap/or soap- powder diluted in liquid form is recommended for washing. Some colour change after washing is natural and depends on the kind of detergent used while washing. Irregularities in the weave and dyeing are not a defect but an integral part of handloom, natural dyed fabrics, and part of their charm. Variations of shade from 15-20 % between batches are possible as they are made using by hand using natural processes. Variations in shade are due to the difference in fabric quality, climactic changes, difference in water quality and inconsistency in the properties of the herbs which are the main ingredients of the dyeing process. 2% to 4% shrinkage should be acceptable and taken into account when purchasing.
