We believe farming with nature rather than against it is better for people, wildlife and the planet.  That's why we try to source as many organic items as possible for our shops and online store.

Conventionally grown cotton uses more chemicals per hectare than any other crop.  These pesticides and fertilisers adversely affect the soil quality and local wildlife population, decreasing biodiversity.  Many of the products used to control pests are also highly toxic and there have been numerous cases of inadvertent poisoning amongst cotton farmers in third world countries.  In contrast, organically grown cotton promotes soil fertility and uses natural methods of pest control, such as crop rotation and natural predators.  It is more economical for the farmers and inherently sustainable in contrast to conventional cotton production which can result in land no longer suitable for agriculture.

Organic cotton is grown in various countries around the world and our cotton comes mainly from Turkey and India.  Some of our organic hemp is sourced from Transylvania in Romania.  Other organic textiles currently come from China which has become the leading producer of organic fibres, however we are working with existing and new suppliers to obtain certified organic textiles (GOTS - Global Organic Textile Standard) closer to home.  Our winter wear features organic wool which comes from livestock reared humanely, with limitations on chemical treatments and the prohibition of genetic engineering and synthetic hormones. We are currently in the process of commissioning our own organic and fair trade certified cotton fabrics which will be available by the metre and in finished items in the near future.

Our range of bodycare and cleaning products also contain organically grown plant ingredients.  In addition, the Alma Win home cleaning range is  certified as 'Successfully Dermatologically Tested'.  The Natural House range (currently only available in our shops) is certified organic by The Soil Association and is made in the UK.  Bodycare and cosmetics from Lavera, Primavera, Akamuti and other reputable and ethical organic brands are  available in our shops and will increasingly be available online.

We aim to sell an exciting and practical range of organic products for easy green living.
